The double bassist and guitarist Edouard Pennes—known for playing with Tchavolo Schmitt and the creator of the Paris Jazz Sessions—offers an original and unprecedented creation: “Génération Django”.

With this project, he revisits the repertoire of the spiritual father of Gypsy jazz with a string quartet, presenting unique arrangements interpreted by the cream of the crop of current Gypsy jazz soloists. The virtuoso American Giacomo Smith (clarinet), the rising star Fanou Torracinta, and the excellent Sébastien Giniaux interpret Django's most beautiful compositions: “Minor Swing”, “Nuages” and “Troublant Boléro” among others. Unforgettable melodies delivered by an original and talented cast.

The album was released on August 25, 2023, under Art Swing, a new label by PIAS dedicated to jazz.
